About the Role
EduMakers is part of Nur Tech, a 3-year educational initiative supported by the Drosos Foundation, and led by San3a Academy aiming to transform STEM education in Egypt by building educator capacity and creating sustainable innovation ecosystems.
We are looking for individuals who possess a blend of technical expertise, pedagogical awareness, and a commitment to professional growth, in one of our branches located in 2 cities: Cairo, and Aswan
ELIGIBILITY: To be an Instructor in EduMakers diploma, you need:
Technical & Professional Requirements
Core Skills: Strong technical background in Arduino programming, electronics, computer-aided design (CAD), and digital fabrication.
Growth Mindset: An openness to learning and facilitating new skills such as (), and other emerging maker technologies.
Educational Foundation: Basic knowledge of instructional design and STEM education (proven experience is a significant plus).
Target Audience Experience: Previous experience in teaching and mentoring Adults is required. Proven experience as a teacher trainer is considered a plus.
Personal Tax card [بطاقة ضريبية] is a plus.
Skills & Availability
Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills for effective knowledge transfer.
Organization: Strong organizational skills with a preference for those with previous working or volunteering experience.
Commitment: Ability to devote 18 to 25 hours per week (offline, based on the program schedule)
Full Attendance: Total availability and commitment to the established program schedule and milestones.
Requirements
To be an instructor in EduMakers Diploma you need:
1. Strategic & Technical Mastery
- Alignment: Fully understanding and acting as an ambassador for the program’s mission, vision, and objectives.
- Skill Currency: Mastering and remaining up-to-date with all technical skills taught within the program.
- Ethics: Promoting a respectful environment strictly free of harassment and discrimination.
2. Preparation & Planning
- Training (ToT): Attend and actively participate in the Instructor’s Training of Trainers (ToT) before the start of the round.
- Weekly Alignment: Participate in class preparation by attending mandatory instructors' meetings to align with the co-instructor and node team.
- Guided Prep: Prepare for every session by thoroughly reviewing the Instructor Guide and any associated video tutorials.
3. Delivery & Student-Centered Engagement
- Active Instruction: Deliver scheduled sessions following recommended approaches for solving practice examples and exercises.
- Engagement: Actively engage students throughout the class, maintaining a human connection in virtual settings by keeping your video on.
- Daily Support: Provide adequate daily availability to support students via designated communication platforms (e.g., Discord, Slack, or WhatsApp).
- Logistics & Setup: Ensure the session setup (tools/materials) is adequate and keep accurate track of machine usage during sessions.
4. Mentorship, Assessment & Reporting
- Capstone Leadership: Lead the ideation, planning, execution, and progress tracking of student capstone projects.
- Evaluation: Review, evaluate, and provide consistent, constructive feedback on student progress.
- Reporting: Submit session reports within 15 hours of completion, including updates on both class-wide and individual student progress.
